An Update, and Destination: Paris

HI everyone!

I'm sorry I've been such a terrible blogger. Since moving back to the states, I've been a little uninspired, especially because this blog was so China and travel focused. Truth be told, life in the U.S. can be a little boring when you're used to living in a culture not your own, and jetting away every few weeks to see another corner of the world.

In the past several months since being back, I have:

- Vacationed in Kauai, Hawaii with my husband
- Started AND quit a Master of Social Work program (I already have a masters and decided I was tired of school)
- Sent my husband off on a deployment
- Became absolutely addicted to Pilates
- Visited my family for a couple months
- Finally got a job!!
and
- Been crazily building my work-wardrobe during all these Christmas sales

Pretty soon, me, my mom, and my best Beijing friend will all be rendezvousing in Paris for a little winter fun before I head back to California to start my new job.

I plan to do a Kauai related travel post soon, and definitely stay tuned for my Paris trip report in the next few weeks...

I hope everything is going well for all of you, and Happy New Year!

Where do you hope to travel in 2012?

Steph

  1. Yay, happy to see you back kinda-blogging! And I can't wait to see the post about Kaua'i--it's a favorite vacation spot for my husband and me, probably our absolute favorite. Have fun in Paris! I traveled so much in 2011 that I have to take a break in 2012, so I will definitely be living vicariously through you. <3

  7. I'm thrilled to see you're back - I love your posts! I've been dreaming of Paris lately, so I can't wait to learn all about your planning and experiences there!

If my brother decides to continue his military service, then he'll be stationed in Belgium for three years. It's selfish, but I sort of hope he does. I'd definitely visit! Otherwise it's just stateside vacations this year. Which are still wonderful!

  9. We want fewer, but higher-paying guests than before. Backpackers spend almost nothing, stay for a long time, and stir up the Tibetans against us. We definitely do not want them.

  12. Everybody knows flying with commercial airlines can be sometimes very frustrating. We can mention here what situation comes up when dealing with commercial airline; you get a delayed flight schedule, losing your luggage, security issues and other problems that you might even think about it.
