My Favorite Things Giveaway WINNER!!!

If you care about how I went about choosing the winner ...here we go! Its long! If you are too anxious to read through all this blahblahblah and just want to see if its your name there... scroll down!

OK so let me tell you guys how I arrived at this number! There were 196 comments, but not all were contest entries because some were truly just comments, most likely because the commenter lived in a foreign country not listed in the giveaway rules (I said I'd only be shipping to U.S., Canada, China or APO/FPO addresses). If you entered and you are in a foreign country and did not mention that you have an alternate address I can ship it to (within the giveaway delineated locations) - I had to withdraw your entry. I also said that if you post about my giveaway on your blog, you can receive an extra entry, which makes the random number generator method a little more difficult.

What I did was this. I wrote down everybody's name in the order you commented (no small feat). If you showed me that you posted about my giveaway in your blog, I checked and then put a star next to your name. When I had written all eligible entries down, I added each given-a-star-person to the end of the list in the order which they commented, so they each received an extra entry. There were 13 people who were given 2 entries.

Its not pretty... but it works. It used 2 legal size pieces of paper, front and back on both sheets.


Then, I went to Random.org where people far smarter than me created a random number generator, which for reasons I can't understand, creates a completely random number. After all was said and done, there were 195 entries and number 9 was the winner!

CONGRATULATIONS DECONSTRUCTION!! IT IS YOUR LUCKY DAY!

(Uh hello? I just learned how to change fonts and font colors... took me long enough... lol. I think I need Blogging for Dummies, which, somehow, I am sure exists.)

Now look, as someone who NEVER wins ANYTHING (well, I did win $500 on the slot machines my first time in Vegas!), I know how it sort of stinks to not win, again.

BUT... STAY TUNED because there WILL be more giveaways! And next time, I am opening it up to all countries. Because I love making someone's day a little brighter, especially someone who takes the time to read my blog.

My First Giveaway!

First, I just want to say thank you to everyone who not only follows my blog, but actively reads it and comments on it, too. I love when I see that I have a new follower, and I love hearing from you guys. It makes me feel good to know that someone is actually reading this silly stuff I come up with sometimes.

As a token of my appreciation for my first 150+ followers, I am going to be holding my first giveaway! I am calling this giveaway My Favorite Things Giveaway (Oprah anyone?!)
