2.5 years later, its time for us to say goodbye to Monterey and hello to China!
I will miss...
...the five minute walk to the beach.
...the rugged coastline of Big Sur.
...weekend bike rides along the Asilomar.
...the pretty Victorian houses in Pacific Grove.
...my favorite French restaurant.
...chocolate croissants on Saturdays from the local pastry shop.
...Thursday farmers markets, fresh fruits & flowers.
...passing by the otters, seals & sea lions on my weekend walks.
...the 5 minute drive to beautiful Carmel to window shop.
...the fog that can descend in an instant...
...and the beautiful sun shining on the green hillside as soon as you drive into the valley.
All of these pictures, except the pictures of the seals and otters, are taken by yours truly (and trust me, I am not a photographer as I am sure you can tell!). The otter picture was taken by a friend of mine - thanks Kimberly for letting me put that cute picture up here!
And finally, a thank you to our dear friends Jimmy, Tolu & Maddie for letting us stay at your house!
Tomorrow we begin our long drive from California to Florida. Talk to you all later, thanks so much for reading & commenting - I love it!
Steph

I miss all of those things too, plus having Peppers a block from our house and the beach a block in the other direction :).
ReplyDeleteAnd GOSH I miss the 5 minute drive to Carmel Plaza more than anything! We're 20 minutes from the nearest civilization and it's not even pretty (and the shops are definitely not that good....I miss Anthro and that little coffee shop downstairs so much. And Pottery Barn. And Williams Sonoma...sigh...)
We're trying to find the awesomeness that is unique to Kansas now--it's actually not that bad, just takes some getting used to.
