UGH! Is Texas not the hugest most ridiculously long state ever?!!! I can't wait to get out of Texas!! Yesterday we left Phoenix, AZ and drove 720 miles total. Then we stopped at a gross little (OK it wasn't that bad) h(motel) to sleep for the night. Neither of us slept very well and then this morning we were off again! We are visiting friends in Austin... still planned to drive a few more hours tonight, but, I've been feeling nauseous all day and we might just have to stay here for the night. I don't know if its all the driving or nerves starting to show, but, I really hope I feel better soon! Traveling like this and feeling sick is NOT fun!
I wish I had snapped a photo of this little gas station we stopped at in a super small town in Texas. I was thisclose to taking a picture but wasn't feeling well at the time, so I didn't get one. The sign said "We are closing Friday the 16th at noon, will be back Monday - going fishing!"
I thought it was hilarious. It just seemed like something you would hear in a country song. My husband and I can't stop ourselves from making silly Texas jokes the whole way through! (No offense to any Texans!)
Anyway - my thought is to stay in the Omni Hotel tonight, relax, have a nice hotel for the night... then continue tomorrow. Hopefully I will be feeling better at that point.
Sorry I have no cool or interesting pics to post! Just wanted to update!
And if you haven't already, don't forget to enter the giveaway!

Have fun! I'm so glad you made it to Austin to see the wildflowers! It is so pretty around here right now. Oh, and no offense taken. Whenever we drive through west Texas between Austin and Lubbock I just want to pull my hair out...that is the longest drive ever!
ReplyDeleteYou're so close to where I live! Yes; the only time I really hate living in Texas is when I've gone on a road trip. Sometimes bigger is not better.

Hope the trip gets better! I guess that is one perk on Northeast living - everything seems like it is just a few hours away by car.
ReplyDeleteSafe traveling!!
ReplyDeleteLove the sign hahaha sounds like something youd see in northern maine!

Hey now! But just think, once you're out of our great state the rest of the drive will be quick. And it's not just small towns that do that. San Antonio is pretty much shutting down for a day (city offices, schools, etc.) for a freaking parade! Gotta love our priorities.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels!
