OOTD! Anthro's Winged Victory Blouse REDONE: Blacklight Blouse

In Anthropologie's Winter collection (I think it was winter), Odille had the cutest little blouse out called the Winged Victory top. It was insanely popular and sold out very quickly. I am not a strapless sort of girl - I tend to stay away from them due to all the logistics involved (if you know what I mean) ... but, on a complete whim, I tried on the Winged Victory top and as soon as I did, I knew I had to have it - it went home with me that night!

I love the pop of green against the black, and the architectural detailing at the top of the blouse is just gorgeous and incredibly flattering. Its also a really secure feeling top so I felt comfortable enough buying this.

I know a lot of people missed out on this top the first time around, which is why I knew I had to post about it as soon as I noticed that Odille came out with a polka-dotted spin on the Winged Victory top with the Blacklight Blouse.

How darling are those polka dots? With the same pleating at the top, and the black, and, and, the pop of green in the pretty sash?!!! Available at at Anthropologie for $78. Several of the smaller sizes are sold out online, but don't forget to call Anthro's 800 number - they can track it down for you! (And tip... I notice my previous local Anthro store used to have many items that were sold out... you can always try there, its the Carmel, California location.)

Here I am in the Winged Victory top - I think this top runs big? I have it in a size 2 for reference. BTW, look at that sad little bow I made.... LOL. When I tried it on at Anthro, the sales girl tied it for me in this perfect little bow... that I can never seem to recreate!

I usually tie the bow to the side... notice the gorgeous bracelets, aka hair ties.. hey, I'm moving!

That's me with no makeup... told you I'm not shy about that!

Close up of the pretty detailing

And here I am wearing J. Crew's destroyed skinnies, which I can no longer find on the site. I love pairing a really girly, feminine top with the destroyed jeans... I'm predictable like that;)

I love this top for a weekend night out, or date night, or... or... lots of things. Its just so pretty! I also think it would look gorgeous paired with a pencil skirt and heels.

  13. This is such a great top. And I'm with you on not usually being a huge fan of getting strapless tops because of the "logistics" lol
But this looks great especially with the jeans.

  22. Love the top. This is in my wishlist...for markdown of course. :) I also LOVE that you broadcast you have 2 unpaid tickets.. that SUCKS that you got them on the last day. Isn't that how it always is? oh man. Ok, words of wisdom..... You are going to do GREAT in China. Sadly, I love China more than where I am now. SOOO much going on there. LOTS to see. Don't get freaked out by the chinese staring at you. I got SOO annoyed with it, but it's because they rarely see skin like yours AND with your blonde hair..woah mama. You are going to look really out of place in some areas. Consider it a sheer compliment...not an annoyance. Take your own toilet paper (kleenex's) with you wherever you go. Unless you are in a really modern city (Shanghai), but even still...we would hit up the Ritz Carlton at the Portman (in Shanghai) to use their bathrooms. Starbucks are also super safe, but others...you'll have to bring your own. Wear your backpack on the front of you. Pick Pocketers are ALL over the place. My roommate had her passport stolen RIGHT out of her coat pocket. Sneaky. The metros are awesome and clean. Drink the Mongfu water (it has a red cap). It is the most natural tasting of the bunch. Trust me, I have tried them ALL. I drank the milk....wouldn't be freaked out by that. I would eat light for the first month. Let your system adapt. If you need any more tips you can email me....kelwood9@gmail.com. I know you have friends there too, so...you will be JUST fine. seriously! totally jealous. wish I could move back!

  23. Love the sash! I am crazy for sashes, I put one on my wedding dress that I had made for about $20 and it looked amazing! I love this combo of green with black too, great outfit, and you look fab with no makeup! Lucky girl!

  24. What a cute top! I love it!

For making a pretty bow try making sure your two loops (or bunny ears) are neat when you start. When you are just about to pull the two loops tight fix the loose ends and make sure they lay flat. Also, give the bows a few tugs after you adjust the loop length. :):)

  25. J Jordan - thanks for the info! I think I am probably way too hasty about it, no patience! but the pretty bows always look so nice... I will try it soon and let you know how it works out :)
